I think that it depends on what you want to do as a camera operator. The first element of potential difficulty is the type of camera. Some cameras used for recording professional videos can be highly complex and expense. However, as we have learned over the years, movies and videos can be created with a iPhone. Some cameras may need to be carried, so physical strength may be another consideration for you.

It may be more difficult to learn how to create great video as a camera operator. You are going to learn about lighting and composition, among various elements related to photography. This knowledge will allow you to be able to determine how to frame a subject or a landscape in an easy to view way. That can take more time and patience before you really understand what a good video looks like.
