Sonya’s Answer

Generally as a part of growing up we look up to our family members to be our role models. It could be our parents ,siblings or relatives who are successful and it could be our teachers and friends whom we interact with apart from this we might develop interest in a particular field for example I might have a goal to become a successful business woman in the future ,I would find successful women in the field of business as an inspiration and a role model .My friends might have an aim to be an author and they might be reading a lot books which interest them and they would find a successful writer as their role model and I might not find their role model interesting since it's not a field of my interest. Hence we choose our role models based on our upbringing and our personal interests and they would differ from person to person.

Shakthi’s Answer

everyone has a role model in their life. They could be a parent, a friend, a teacher, or a sports hero
A role model is hard to define, because it can be different for everyone. Who your role model is depends as much on you as it does on the person you admire
My role model is not one person, but an entire group of people in my family.
I think they are brave and strong and I look up to them and want to be strong as them.

Linda Ann’s Answer

Hi Tiffany,
Of course! Many role models have shaped the person that I've become, starting with family, parents of my neighborhood friends, K-12 school teachers, university professors, colleagues once I was in the work force and people I've never even met....by either reading about them in books and periodicals, or reading their published works (i.e., books they've written, magazine articles they've written, blogs, news feeds, etc.).

Even though I am a recently retired faculty member (second career for me), I continue to have role models who shape my thinking and reasoning on a number of different topics. We all need to have people in our lives who inspire us to become our better selves! Find those people for yourself; it's an ongoing process.
