Hi Zhisheng,
While I am not a dentist myself, my uncle is and he owns two offices. His biggest regret was not specializing and going into something like orthodontics rather than sticking with dentistry. He also is currently struggling with the debt of dental school, which is a hefty amount. In 2019, the average debt per dental school graduate was about $290,000. While money is still a stressor for him, he also enjoys the freedom of owning his own office. Hope this helped!

Dan’s Answer

Not a dentist myself, but I shared classes with pre-dental students and have several dental friends. They like their job, it's good pay, stable job, no residency needed and lower stress than physicians.
