I have a couple questions for someone in the Operational Management field.

Describe the main responsibilities of your position.

How did you decide to get into this field?

Tell me about the training and education that you’ve had? Has this helped you in this field, if not, what has?

What skills and personal qualities are important for success in your field?

What are the opportunities for promotion or advancement?

What professional organizations or industry associations should someone consider joining to obtain additional information about this field?

Danny,
Can you please provide a bit more details about what you mean by "Operational Management"? Do you mean "Business Operations" like how to operate a business? Or some other type of operations?
thanks

Tamisha’s Answer

Business operations is a diverse field that includes several functions of a business. I originally started as a business analyst and had a degree in Business Administration & Finance. As I learned more about what different departments were included in the operations, I chose to learn skills that others were doing as well so that I could move laterally and up in the company. It's a great field to learn more about what interests you and does not interest you.
