Hi again. As a special education teacher, you are developing and implementing different educational plans for all of your students. This means that for one student, you may have to prepare a lesson in grade 2 geometry, grade 4 measurement, grade 1 reading, grade 5 writing, etc. The other obstacle is dealing with a wide range of behaviors much more than in a regular classroom. You will need to work with many different groups of professionals such as Educational Assistants, Speech Pathologists, SERTs, ABA Specialists, Children's Aid, etc. It is critical to be organized and on top of your diagnostic testing. However, this is an incredibly rewarding job. When students make academic, social, or behavioral gains, it feels wonderful. You can make a huge difference in someone's life.

In order to be a Special Education teacher you have to have an organized and conscientious approach to your students . You need to develop creative skills in using visual imaging and examples to convey the same message in a repetitive manner . Your audience changes in reference to their cognitive level and they will challenge your skills and determination in providing them instruction and knowledge so their specific need is fulfilled. Multiple instructional plans with various levels and personalization will need to be created, and you will have to engage the parents in this journey too
