It depends on the type of doctor. A dermatologist makes about $352,000 a year on average while an internal medicine physician makes about $201,000 per year.

This depends on what type of speciality the doctor is, if they had additional training in fellowship, how much they chose to work, and also where they practice. Owning your own practice and/or working for a hospital can also significantly affect how much a physician makes. If you own your own practice, you’ll certainly have additional expenses, but you also have the opportunity to hire on other healthcare providers to increase business. It can really vary, from ~150,000 to well over a million.
You can google search different specialties, though, if you’re interested in looking into a particular type of doctor.
It’s also important to consider the amount of debt medical students accrue (average is 300,000) which a lot of people skim over, although it’s the reality of going through med school.
Lastly, medical school is not easy and it is a lot of work/time. It’s important that you’re going into medicine for the right reasons (want to help patients) or you’ll burn out really quickly and the salary won’t mean as much any more.
