Alan’s Answer

I am a Director of Marketing Effectiveness at Verizon. I help measure the impact and efficiency of media and marketing programs so that we can optimally invest our budgets to maximize business performance.

My career in Marketing Analytics and Measurement has spanned over 25 years, but I didn't really choose this career initially. It was a career that matched my skill set around Psychology and Math. I thought it would be short-term, but found that by having a career that matched what I liked and liked to do, it was easy to maintain and progress within the field.

I never intended to be in this field, but I pursued what I liked in college, and that led me to this career.

Thomas’s Answer

I am a Business Continuity Analyst. I work to ensure that my company can continue to run when bad/unexpected things happen. I do this by creating plans for how the business should respond to a crisis or disaster. I also conduct training and create exercises to practice. I chose this role because I get to work with all the areas of the business, and I get to create plans and test them. COVID-19 showed how important business continuity is to keeping businesses running.
