Here's a link to the 20 best programs for Animation

In fact, you don't even need to know how to draw to create 3D animation. The majority of your work will consist of using a computer to manipulate and control characters in the same way you would move a puppet. Drawing is only one of a few ways to “animate” or “bring to life” an object or character.
If you like to draw though with paper and pencil. Here's a good exercise for practice! Draw a Mickey Mouse head and face 20 times. Close your eyes and draw a bunch of circles, then connect the dots!
I am an Artist and I love to draw. Animation was just drawing the same picture over and over moving in a direction. It is a matter of making the drawing consistent or look the same, with that slight movement.
Learn how to work a computer program to animate a character. Gimp is a free open source Paint and photo editor you can download.
There is also PhotoShop that a curriculum would have in a University or College to train on.
Research Richard Williams, Walt Disney, Hayao Miyazaki, to name a few!
