Curtis’s Answer

It is important to land a job that you are able to use your primary strength each day. It helps with job satisfaction and gives you an extra motivation to show up strong everyday. Also I enjoy my job because I have a voice and a seat at the table which allows me to have influence with processes and policy

Kelly’s Answer

I work in sales so I can see my work every day having a direct impact on the business, which is pretty awesome. I also get to interact with people daily and help them achieve their marketing goals. Lastly, working in an industry that aligns with my interest in television makes work seem more like a passion than a have to do.

Nishana’s Answer

I work within the regulatory and compliance team of a Big 4 Accounting Firm and I enjoy working with my team. You will not realize the importance of this until you join the workforce but one would say you spend the most time of your waking hours with your work family. These are people you truly need to like, respect and get along with to ensure your work is completed timely. Having the ability to work with our regulators, finding instances where we can continue to build that relationship and understanding the overall mindset helps me to enjoy my job. At my current level, I have the ability to run with authority over my reviews and my boss trust that I can navigate through my day to day without being micromanaged. Having the ability to act with authority helps to build my confidence and assist in the many other reasons why I enjoy my work.

Hope this helps!

Christine’s Answer

I love empowering people. I work as a trainer as well as oversee the operation.
I love seeing my team become better in the job that they do but also help build their character towards work as well as dealing with other people.
What makes me happy at the end of the day is seeing members of our team have the confidence to make critical decisions at work and extend that in their personal goals and or aspirations.

Patricia’s Answer

My job involves a lot of working with other people to get the healthcare they need without having to pay a lot of money. This is very important to me that people have access to care that they can afford so they can stay healthy.

I think I am lucky because I have a job that matches things that I think are important. If you can discover things that are interesting and important to you and find work that matches those things, you will always like your work and will be happier in your life.

Patricia recommends the following next steps:

Give some thought to things that are important and interesting to you
Look for opportunities that match those things

Claire’s Answer

You are able to really enjoy your job when you are passionate about what you get to do, and the company you work for. When you are passionate about your work, you will find yourself excited to start each day (and not dreading it). Another a great aspect of working is the people you get to work around, all working towards a similar goal and supporting the same values.

Brent’s Answer

I love helping people. Work is very demanding, and there is often too much work for one person. My job allows me to help those people who need additional help when there is too much work them. My work allows them to focus on what's most important while I do a lot of the background work for them. I get satisfaction in a job well-done when I know I've helped someone else.

Rich’s Answer

You really want to work somewhere that treats you as a person and not a number. We're not always going to find that dream job were passionate about but if you can find somewhere that gives you value and has good people then it could create a great work environment.
