Do you think medical school was worth it?

I am considering going to college and entering a pre-med program, then continuing to a medical school. I was just wondering if it was all worth it. I know it will be a lot of work and money. #doctor #medicine #school #pediatrician

Estelle’s Answer

Absolutely. While becoming a physician requires many years of sacrifice, dedication, and hard work, I enjoy going to work every day. I have been a gynecologist for about 30 years, and I find my career rewarding and fulfilling. I highly recommend a career in medicine.

Richard’s Answer

Yes! It is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of long hours studying in the library followed by long hours in the hospital, but it is a fulfilling career. There are so many opportunities after medical school... different specialties appeal to different individuals. Or you can follow a nonclinical route in research or even hospital administration.

Jill’s Answer

I'm not a doctor, but I can tell you that the hard work and steep costs are always worth it if you are passionate about what you're doing. Being a doctor is a big deal, but if you love the idea of being a doctor, then it's the right choice. There are also other medical jobs that don't require full medical school, like an EMT.
