The American Red Cross offers classes in babysitting and childcare training. If you're interested in doing this long-term or nannying, these classes and certifications will definitely set you apart! https://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/babysitting-child-care

Babysitting pay is usually based on your level of child care experience. For example, our former Nanny made a flat rate per week and anything over 40 hours received $20.00 per hour for two children. I would recommend that you take some early childhood development classes, get CPR certified and any other certifications that would help you in caring for children. In addition, you will need a resume and references that parents or families can cross-check regarding your experience levels and feedback from the prior families or schools where you worked previously.
If you do not have any experience you could try for a Mother's Helper position over the summer to get something on your resume. These jobs usually call for a younger person to assist an adult usually the Mom at home. Finally, there are agencies that might train for Au Pair positions where you would make less $$ weekly, but you would be provided room & board as a live in with the family that hires you.
Good luck and have fun with the kids it could be an awesome experience.
