Gwendolyn’s Answer

Hi Zaire,

Yes, web design is relevant to a career in graphic design. While you do not necessarily have to work on web design projects as a full time designer, it is very helpful to know a little about web design (from the course you are currently taking) as it can expand your skill set and will make it easier to work with web designers in the future. If you work with web designers and developers without knowing what they do or how they do it, it can make projects more difficult to accomplish. I honestly would find it odd if a web design class was not a part of the degree plan for your graphic design degree.

Hi Zaire!

I do not know the answer, but here are two sites that appear to have the inside scoop:
http://captainjack.com/graphic-design-vs-web-design/
https://www.orbitmedia.com/blog/graphic-design-vs-web-design-separate-and-not-equal/

Best of luck! Please keep me informed. I would like to follow your progress!
