Paige’s Answer

Becoming a cook comes with a stressful work environment, lower wages and odd working hours. You must be passionate about food and cooking, if you love being involved in the culinary arts than this is the profession for you. You will be surrounded by like individuals who share your passion for what you do and although there are difficult times, if you love creating works of art out of food or enjoy creating something that someone else can enjoy then it is completely worth it.

Holly’s Answer

I have a son in Culinary arts minor and criminal justice major. He now cooks for a family of five daily he loves to chef. However, he was not happy with the pay and the work enviornment for all the schooling he did. He lives in a small town and had to commute to a large city to get a good job. Culinary arts is a good field you can always work for a Casino, or buffet or a pesonal chef. Follow your dream on that one. This is an easy program to achieve. I took a few courses in beverage purchasing and purchasing, Most of the time the head chef does all the ordering for goods that are needed to and take much paper work responsibility too. Culinary is an art go with your heart on that good schools for culinary arts.

Moe’s Answer

I chose culinary arts because I just love food. LOL. I love learning about it, cooking it, teaching others about it, and satisfying my clients. This career requires an undying passion for what you do. It's very demanding and stressful. You don't start out making much, but the future in culinary arts has no boundaries. It's an excellent career choice if you love thinking outside the box and interacting with people from different cultures.
