Nursing is a basic short program depending on if you want to be in a special area of nursing. Such as a baby nurse or older people nurse, you do need to go to a community college and get all your general education credits before you can get into the nursing program. You need math, english, reading, all the good stuff first. I suggest you get all you can from a community college first then transfer either to a bachelors or an Associates in nursing. Some post secondary schools offer the R.N. program too. I would really look around, depending on where you are and how many credit hours you have now if any. The nursing programs do a full skill evaluation on you before accepting you into the nursing program. The programs fill quickly. You do need all the basic courses to apply for the nursing degree. You may want to start with your Cert.Nursing Assitant then move forward if you need money you can work in the field while obtaining your nursing degree. Also different states have different criteria. Some states have an LVN lic. voc nurse almost a nurse. Many jobs are always open in the field of health care. R.N. pays well. However, be prepared to stand for many hours work long hours the reward is helping people. A decent pay. Good luck!
