Hi Alyssa,
Great question. For my profession I was actually able to secure a job a year before I graduated from college. If you are able to apply yourself and get involved in organizations that allow you to differentiate yourself from your peers, you shouldn't have a problem finding a job right out of college. I recommend completing internships in your field your junior and senior years of college to gain more experience in your profession because that'll also boost your resume. Overall, definitely consider utilizing the career center at whatever university you decide to attend. They will be able to provide you with career counseling to help navigate your future career path.

Dentistry is a good field to go into. You will learn more about how to get a job in college. Many schools have connections with local employers and career offices that will help you to get a job. Be sure to study and get good grades in school. This will help you get your first job. You can also look for volunteering or internship opportunities while you are in school too.

When i finished college i actually didn't find a job in my major but didn't take me long to find one especially that i made sure to apply jobs with a great portfolio.
after 3 months i found a job in my major and till now i am a creative designer,
my advice is don't say no to any job because whatever job you accept you'll learn something from it.
and don't give up hope in finding your dream job!!

Hey Alyssa!
I also secured a job in my desired profession right out of college and was able to do so because of internship and work experience throughout college. I would recommend getting involved with clubs on campus or professional organizations to make connections and learn more about the industry you're interested in. You could even consider job shadowing a dentist in your community to understand the job more.
Good luck!
