Hi Monica!
I'm not a surgeon myself, but from the research I've read being a Cardithoracic surgeon can be very hard. Just from the time required to become a cardiothoracic surgeon. 7 or 8 years in both undergraduate and medical school and then 3 to 6 years of residency! That's a lot of time.
I sure there are hurdles along the way. However, time might be the hardest.
