What's the first thing to learn in order to be a web developer(accidently thought designer...)
I want to be a web developer with at least an understanding of computer programming, but I don't know where to begin.

Hi Arthur: The best way to learn is by doing!
I think this site might be where you could take a first step: https://studio.code.org/ - while it might seem too elementary, I know that it has helped me get up to speed quickly!! Engineers from Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Twitter helped create the materials, they've crafted a fun and practical site to lead you anywhere you want to go.

It is important that you found out now instead of going along further in the process. It would be good to find web developers in your area to talk to. Talk to the head of alumni relations at your community college and arrange to meet with some. Let me know if this helps.
