What is the best way to apply for an internship? How long through my college career should I wait before doing so?

I am pursuing a job in the field of Social Work and I was just curious about the internship process. #anyone

I'd recommend applying every year. Even if you do not receive offers during your freshmen year, going through the application and interview process will give you practice and help you prepare for internship season.
Also, utilize your college's career center. Most colleges have career or peer counselors that can help you prepare your internship applications, go through mock interviews, and can sometimes connect you to alumni who may work at the organizations you're applying to.
