SABITHA’s Answer

Life in a different country is hard to adjust to in the short term. When you grow up surrounded by people and a culture you are familiar with, going to a new country with a different system of education along with adjusting to the college experience with no old friends or classmates to support you can be very challenging.

However, hundreds of students do it every year and they do it very successfully. Only you can decide if you are ready mentally for the challenge. That said there are practical aspects like qualifications, entrance criteria in the universities you want to go to, visa requirements and the financial support needed for the 4 years of under graduate study.

In most cases, getting financial assistance or a scholarship becomes a bit easier when you apply for a post graduate degree or higher. I would recommend you first think through the field you want to specialize in, what you want to achieve and then decide where the best opportunities for you will be whether it is at home or abroad.

Good Luck!!

Vaishnavi’s Answer

Hi Yash, it would be excellent if you can get to your dream university for UG itself instead of waiting for PG. This requires a ton of preparation and often times more financial commitment but it definitely pays off. There is a lot flexibility in UG programs abroad, you can pick you majors and change majors. You also have the option of working in the field of your choice while studying in most countries. Moving out of the comfort of home for UG also makes you independent and gives you a sense of adventure at an early age. Often times UG abroad is enough to get you into your dreamjob and you can skip PG too.
Hope this helps, good luck!
