Rebecca’s Answer

I would recommend seeking volunteer or work experience that involves managing or teaching children in some way. For example, volunteering to teach a children's Sunday school class, working at a summer camp, or tutoring. Such opportunities will allow you to explore many aspects of teaching without committing to teaching if you are on the fence.

Simeon’s Answer

I'd recommend finding an opportunity to shadow a teacher. If you know one, ask them if they'd be willing to allow you to observe them teaching. You'll see videos online of what classroom are *supposed* to look like, but it's invaluable experience to actually witness the real thing. You'll develop a deeper appreciation for the skillsets you'll need to succeed as a teacher.
