Rowena is on point for the educational portion. I think a lot of this may also depend on where you live to be an officer. Also, I would like to add that having military experience plays a role in this as well

If you are interested to become a police officer, you can consider the degree of Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology and ), Criminal Justice as a Law Enforcement Degree, Law, Computer Science, Finance or Accounting, Foreign Language Degrees and Law Enforcement Degree In Public Safety Leadership. You need to assess yourself in which degrees you are interested and skilled.
