Wayne’s Answer

Without more background information, it is difficult to nail down specifics, however, taking courses in computer sciences would be helpful as well as looking for internships with high tech companies. An unknown fact is that most IT service desk teammates know very little about the actual problems so they are provided a software program to troubleshoot the issues and suggest solutions. Having a basic understanding of computer operations (software and hardware) and the language used in the industry, would be very helpful in getting a position as a service desk first level tech. Experience will add knowledge and provide opportunities for growth. From my experience, this is a relatively easy field to get into for someone with basic skills and a willingness to learn and help people. Hope this helps.

Hi,
Good question, here is a link to some information about a career in the IT Helpdesk field:
http://www.itcareerfinder.com/it-careers/help-desk-technician.html

There are a lot of ways to learn about IT Helpdesk...you can take one of many courses/certificate/degree plans at community colleges or universities. There are online courses you can take to learn about this field from Udemy.com, Alison.com and Coursea.com ... the military can train you in computer repair/electronics. I would also suggest joining a computer or electronics club in high school if they are available.

Good luck! :)
