Hello Bridgette,
Here is a great link: http://whatcanidowiththismajor.com/major/communication-studies/
It will not only show you all of the industries that your major would align with but all the different jobs within each industry. At the very bottom of the list are several links for professional associations, job boards and other resources for this major.
I hope this helps!

Hello Bridgette,
Being a communication major myself in college I can tell you, you could end up anywhere you would like to, you could eitheir go with professionial, organisational communication thus working in the corporate world as a public relation specialist or working in the communication departement, you might as well end up in media and communication working for media networks( television, radio,advertisement..), you could also work in marketing if you add up some business classes and marketing classes to your communication major, politics is also an option. The key with communication is to take a blanced number of classes that would teach you about communication in general but to also take classes specific to what you wanna to do later and it might not be just one thing and that is fine. Feel free to adress me any of your concerns.
I hope I helped, best of luck !

Hi Bridgette,
From a personal and professional perspective, I believe that there are a wealth of opportunities in all sectors (private, government, academia, etc.) for individuals with a communications major. Communication is very broad and can include business communications, graphic communications, marketing communications, journalism, etc. As a result, a variety of occupations are possible. Some occupations include, media and communications, public relations, broadcasting, advertising, etc.
I recommend doing some occupation research and have provided some resources in the next steps area.

Here is a link to an organization of women in communications. Talk to the reference librarian at your local library to see if there is a local chapter in your community.
