learning how to do a complex job feels like it takes forever when you look at all the things you haven't learned yet. then it goes really slow when you look at how long you've been trying. a lot of life will be like this. like how your mom will look at you & say 'where did the time go? you were this tiny last week!'

It depends whether you want to work as dental assistant or hygienist or as a dentist.
If you want to work as dental assistant in Florida then you can get it within a year also with minimal training.
But to become a dentist, it takes minimum 4 years.

Hi Ayanna,
It will take you around 10 years if you are planning also to do some post graduate certificate which I do recommend.

Hi Ayanna!
Are you interested in being a dentist or a dental hygienist? If hygienist then you can do this with an associate's or bachelor's degree. The bachelor's will allow you more opportunity such as teaching or working in public health. However, if you just want to work in a private dentist office, the two year degree will get you well on your way. After your degree you will need to get your license. You be required to become licensed in your state before you can start working as a dental hygienist. To earn a license, you would graduate from an approved program and pass an examination that includes both written and clinical components.
If you're interested in becoming a dentist, you're looking at eight or more years.
Hope this helps!!
