what does it take to work your way up to being a linemen

im hardworking ,i dont give up,i have patience,i wont stop till the jobs done,i listen very well i am hands o and visual learner and i enjoy being around new people,i am very respectful and open to new solutions on anything. #electrician

To be a lineman, you must have incredible physical and mental strength. Working on the line means hauling gear, pulling thick cable and wire, and not minding having to work long hours day or night. Hey there! Sounds like you have what it takes!

The first step to becoming a lineman is to be accepted into an apprenticeship program or enroll in a lineman certification course. Apprenticeships usually last about 4 years, after which you become a licensed journeyman lineman.
