Hi Steven!
A neurosurgeon's average week is approximately 40 hours. That's not to say you can't work more. If you'd like to work closer to 50 or more hours you may find the hospital environment more to your liking. In a hospital setting, neurosurgeons can treat a variety of urgent and emergency cases.
Hope this helps!

Hi Steven! I am a doctor who matched into neurosurgery.
During residency, my hours were typically 70-90 hours. After residency, hours are typically around 60 hours a week. It is definitely a time-intensive job!
Keep up your good grades :)
