Hi there!

It is definitely possible to become a NICU nurse in a short amount of time- that would require you to graduate from a BSN 4 year nursing program after high school and start working in the NICU right after. There are many new-graduate NICU nurse programs in the country that you can look into :)

I became a PICU nurse at 21 by following that pathway.

Hope this helps!

I agree with the previous replies. There are hospitals who are accepting Associate Degree new grads into NICU.

Then your best bet will be to enter a BSN program to finish in four years and then pass your NCLEX exam. Afterwards try to find a new graduate nicu program to jump right in!
