Haven’s Answer

Finishing high school is a huge accomplishment, however if often leaves recent high school graduates, feeling loss because the future is unknown. It is both scary, but exciting to face the world. Life will throw you stuff--both good and bad that you may not be prepared for. It's just how life is. As a result, being adaptable, and sometimes accepting that your plan will have deviate from what was intended--will help shape you to success. For example, you might have a plan to save up for a car to buy off your uncle, but later find out that your uncle has sold it to someone else. Your goal is to still buy a car, but now you have adapt and plan to buy your car elsewhere. My best advice is this: having a plan to set your sights on and keep on track is great and being adaptable to situations and having a positive mindset to events that you aren't prepared for (because unfortunately you can't be prepared for everything) will help you get the best things out in life.

Brandon’s Answer

The most important thing that you need to do after graduating high school is figure out a plan. By planning ahead you can map out certain aspects in life that are better to figure out now rather than waiting for later. There may be some unforeseen experiences that you may experience in life that may derail your initial plans, but you need to persevere and keep pushing onwards.
One of the most important things that you would need to think about would be how you would make an income AND staying in a positive state of mind. Getting a good job can be difficult especially in hard times when different businesses are struggling financially, but with all the possible failures that one may have, their is a job that will be right for you. It is the same as staying in a positive state of mind, you can't let all of the possible bad things hold you down, the only thing you can do is staying positive and push forward.

Mark’s Answer

Hi Andre!

I think the most important thing is to be prepared. Or as you so graciously put it, "ready for anything." So you're on the right track!

So, how do you move forward? Well, have you talked to your high school career counselor? Do you know your strengths and weaknesses? Do you have any idea what you want to do? Do you have any mentors to meet with? Do you have a five year plan? Do you have a one year plan?

Those are some questions to start with. Knowing and planning. Be flexible and be committed!

Hope this helps!

Neo’s Answer

You should be ready for anything. There are so many obstacles that you can encounter after highschol, but if you are ready, believe me the sky is the limit, you will keep going. The other thing is knowing that you are on your own, run your own race. Find what you are really good at.
