The only financial requirement is finding the money to pay for college. Luckily, you only need a B.S. to get started in the field, so you don't need to necessarily worry about paying for advanced degrees. Besides, once you have a degree, if your grades are excellent, or you work for certain companies that provide this benefit, you can probably get your advanced degrees, if you need them at all, for free, and by then you'll be pulling that Biomedical Engineer salary.
