As with many jobs the location, education, and experience has a significant impact on salary.
According to https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/audio-engineer-salary-SRCH_KO0,14.htm the avg. is salary is $52,187 and the high $93k.
This article is pretty interesting https://sonicscoop.com/2019/05/20/2019-audio-engineer-salary-jobs-report/ and may indicate there's a trend towards more freelancing rather than full-time jobs.

Hassan gave a good answer to your direct question. But also - realize that being an audio engineer can lead to other jobs in the future with a different salary scale. For example, an AVL Director for an organization, or a Rep for a company selling/demoing/configuring consoles for their customers. If your passion is in professional audio, follow it and see where it leads.
Thank you !!
