- state agency - each state has a Dept of Environmental Protection or Dept Environmental Quality for inspection and permits
- federal agency - EPA
- engineering consulting firms - many many to choose from in each city or state
- industry - many
- sales representative - marketing and sales of environmental process equipment to consultants
- manufacturing factory of environmental technology - design, marketing and sales
- city or county - each has a engineering department
- private utility company like Veolia
all good many career paths, actually civil/environmental has the best selection
many will actually jump and try 2-3 over a career

A degree in environmental engineering opens many careers include regulatory jobs, jobs in corporate environmental, environmental consulting, environmental advocacy, and in companies that develop technology for cleaning and protecting environmental media, e.g. water filtration, air pollution control.
