Hello! I'm interested in dentistry, but I have a few concerns. Why is becoming a dentist a better choice than becoming an orthodontist? I feel like being dentist is very interesting, but even my local dentist has told me to look into what orthodontists do
Hello! I'm very interested in becoming a dentist. I first struggled with picking a career path, but I feel like dentistry is right for me. However, my local dentist has given me many questions that were left unanswered. I think being a dentist would be a very fulfilling job, but I don't know if I should look further into becoming an orthodontist. #dentistry

Sometimes generalists recommend a specialty for an opportunity for higher pay. Orthodontics involves mechanical manipulation of teeth. This specialty may not be for you, especially if you enjoy the many facets of a general dentistry practice.

This is a multifaceted question. First and foremost, the basics of dentistry all must endure. Don't be discouraged, persevere once you go through all the rotations Dentistry has to offer; you will decide. If anything it is rewarding! With over 25 years I still LOVE it! My dental mentor is 84 she is still practicing one day a week and enjoys it too! All The Best!
