Hi Jaquelyn:

Computer engineering integrates several fields of electrical engineering and computer science -- both required to develop computer hardware and software.

Your course of study is shaped by your interests; software or hardware? Hardware engineers focus on computer systems and components, designing microprocessor, etc. Software engineers create, test and debug programs and applications that run on computers and mobile devices.

Mohammed’s Answer

Hi there,

If there is no CS in your college, I would recommend that to change the school. However, if you can't change it. I will need to know what other courses the school offers. Please let me know and I will be more than happy to assist you and advise you.

My regards,

Keith’s Answer

Are you currently researching or applying to universities? If you are, I agree with Mohammed's advice to consider other schools that have the degree programs you want. Trying to assemble a Computer Engineering degree or Computer Science degree from classes at a school without those programs will probably not provide the best outcome.

The only exception might be if the school offers that as a specialization within a very closely related discipline. For example, if the degree program is Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, they will probably have the specialization you need. But if they don't have a degree program like that, I think you should expand your search.
