Yes! Letters of recommendations are opportunities for your teachers, employers, or other professionals to speak about your qualities as a student and/or worker. Positive letters can significantly impact the way the admissions staff view you as an applicant. Similarly, concerning letters can negatively impact the way they view you, so make sure you ask people who can speak positively about you!

Yes. I would check the school's requirement but you'll need letter of recs from science professors in college as well as physicians you've shadowed or worked with for medical school.

Every University/College have different requirements when it comes to letters of recommendations. Most colleges use the Common App website, www.commonapp.org for you to apply to the college. On the Common App it will tell you what is required or optional for letters of recommendation. You usually need 2 letters from teachers you've had. Best of luck!

Hi Jose! There are definitely different requirements each institution has but whether for college or medical school you will need letters of recommendation. While your grades, extracurriculars and essays matter significantly for the programs you are applying to, LOR's can also make a difference. Make sure to ask professors who know you very well and can write a strong essay!
