Calvin’s Answer

I worked at a Naval shipyard, then for a contractor working for the Navy. I also worked for GE as a sourcing quality engineer (checking to make sure that the equipment being built for GE met all their requirements). I later worked as a contract engineer and then for a small manufacturing firm: first as an engineer specifying components (valves, pumps, filters, etc.), then as the engineering manager.

Michael’s Answer

You can find a Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineer job pretty much anywhere. To best answer your question, do a job search on any online job search site (I really like Indeed.com) and see what's out there.

Well Computer Engineers are most likely to end up in IT firm. As pointed out by Michael, Mechanical Engineer (core) jobs available anywhere.
I know few Mechanical Engineers in IT who are great software developers (few better than ones holding Computer Engineering Degree).

What job one takes up really depends on that persons interest.
You can get information on internet on various job profiles for Mechanical /Computers Engineer.
