REAL ESTATE is a broad term. There are many fields within Real Estate which include:
1) Real Estate Agent - Refers to a person representing an owner to sell or lease a property. Residential Real Estate Agents is a simple process
2) Real Estate Broker - Buys/Sells land, buildings, property. You most likely require a four year degree to work with a large company or you can raise your own capital.
3) Real Estate Developer - They partner with Brokers and Financial Institutions to manage the development of property or building
4) Real Estate Project Management - Manage Real Estate projects
And the list goes one.. the question you should ask is which field of Real Estate interests you, each has different requirements.
I personally work in Global Real Estate representing internal clients for a large corporation. We manage the Real Estate portfolio and provide internal customers the space they need to keep the business growing.
