This is going to get a bit personal.

It's great to want to help your family out, but you should really have a conversation with them about what sort of help they need.

During and after school, I expended a lot of time and money trying to give my family things that I felt that I owed them. It set me back years financially and compounded a lot of stress that I really did not need to take on.

Remember to take care of yourself, too, bud.

As far as how you hope to help them, try everything and give it your all, but recognize that professional athletics are extremely difficult to turn into a profit. It may work out that your energy is better used focusing purely on academics and a career, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Fingers crossed that you can start off with an athletic scholarship of some kind. Hope this helps.
