What is it like in the daily life of a Biomedical Engineer?
I am currently taking an Intro to Biomed course this semester and I am really interested in what types of jobs Biomedical Engineers do. I am also a Mechanical Engineering student with a Biomedical Concentration which also relates me to this interest. There are many positions for biomedical engineer. The common job title for biomedical engineering as mentioned below:
Quality engineers examine medical products after they’ve been manufactured to make sure that they meet certain standards and specifications
Software engineers in biomedical engineering focus on designing and developing computer programs that are used for various medical applications.
Research associates spend the bulk of their time obtaining knowledge to find solutions to medical problems.
In hospital , the biomedical engineer may provide advice on the selection and use of medical equipment, as well as supervising its performance testing and maintenance.
The mechanical Engineering is more related to biomedical engineering so that would be plus when search for jobs
Minimum a 4 year bachelor degree would be great for entry level position in company. There a lot medical device, biotech and pharmaceutical offers internship for biomedical engineering students.
