Talk to them like they're actual people. Be kind, caring, and FAIR. Overall, if you like kids, just treat them the way you wished you were treated by adults and you'll be an awesome guide for the littles. Whenever I get a new group of students, they always act like they're about to get in trouble which makes me feel that most kids in school are subject to an authoritarian teaching style, which I hate. Kids need to be treated with respect just as much as their teachers do.

Patience is key when working with kids! Even though some kids may not listen to your instructions right away, make sure you remain calm and do not show them your anger or frustration. Providing small incentives, like treats or 5 extra minutes of play time, can be great tools to use to encourage their cooperation. Overall, have fun with the kids! They are young, lively, and playful, so they appreciate an energetic and happy older role model.

Hello Kaiya,
I would say patience would be the number one thing to have. Kids are always asking questions and figuring life out. So, I’d say just allowing them to work through their thought process when they’re trying to communicate.
Also, I would say try to make things fun for them and always encourage them with things.
