Do Environmental engineers work outside at all?

I love hands on work as well as problem-solving so I was interested in the work life of an environmental engineer. #environmental-engineering

kamal’s Answer

To be brief...
Water sampling, soil sampling, air sampling, wtlands, bioswales.....
All of theses tasks and projects require outdoor duties. So a big Yes, an environmental engineer most probably could have more than 50% of his responsibilities field related. Best of luck.

Mark’s Answer

Yes environmental engineers work outside because they solve problems pertaining to air, water, and waste. Having said that, environmental engineers may spend more time in the field working inside of an industrial facility, and younger engineers probably spend more time in the field than more experienced engineers who may have management responsibilities.
