Where in the United States are the top companies for aerospace engineer?
Google searches are very subjective by the companies all claiming to be the best. Any real employee can show me the truth. #engineering #electrical-engineering #aerospace-engineering

Hi Alyssa! When I think of places where the top and/or most companies reside for aerospace engineers, a few states tend to stand out. Washington, California, Colorado, and Texas are where most of my aerospace contacts reside and work, but admittedly I went to school for Aerospace in Texas and now work in Texas so that might skew my viewpoint/contacts a bit. But I can tell you firsthand that my friends and coworkers who have left Texas for work in the aerospace industry have typically headed to the west coast or Colorado.
Also, any state that has a NASA center, i.e. Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Virginia, Ohio, New York, New Mexico will have their aerospace engineers and usually additional companies congregate around NASA Centers as well.
Search for big aerospace companies like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopters, Northrop Grumman, United Launch Alliance, etc. for insight into some of the major players in the industry. Then there are lots of smaller and even start-up companies all over the place that work in the aerospace industry as well, each with their own mission and corporate culture.
And as a shameless plug, I work for Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies (SGT) and we have a contracts in the aerospace industry all over the country, and most of the workforce is located in or around NASA centers. And I am very happy :)

I suggest you conisder the University of Washington in Seattle. As home to airplane and aerospace giant, Boeing, the UW has an excellent Aeronautics and Astronautics Department. A decade ago members of that Department were intimately involved in the Mars Rover Project.

Hi Alyssa: I'm not an Aerospace Engineer, but know several rocket scientists who have done very well in my home state of New Mexico!
Top is Sandia National Laboratories; following them would be some nifty, newer companies: Applied Technology Associates, Eclipse Aerospace, Torch Technologies and the New Mexico Spaceport Authority.
Worth taking a peek -- while it's not Texas...the state has a lot to offer when it comes to aviation!

A lot of big aerospace companies are located on the coasts. So that is a good place to start! Also in the mix along with all the other companies listed is SpaceX. They design and manufacture Rockets and other aeronautical devices.
