Gloria’s Answer

Hi Kyara,

There are a wide number of job roles that can have international impacts. For example, I am an Instructional Designer. I have been to 12 countries doing this job. I think anything from software developer to trainer (or teacher) can take you around the world. Your challenge is not only about the job, it is often about a couple of other factors.
First, you should be prepared to work internationally. That means that you would benefit from speaking more than one language, as one example. Another is that you are global in the way that you work. Learn about the differences of people in the US versus other countries, even those that speak English. I have been to Australia, Canada, England, and Scotland where people speak English and yet they are still foreign counties with their own cultural values. If you want to travel the world, learn how to be a citizen of the world.
Second, you should apply for companies with a global footprint. Your desire to travel around the world will benefit from a company who already reaches out globally. That will change the way that you apply for jobs, by looking where the employer is. Consider where they are internationally as well. Do you want to be engaged in Asia or Europe?

I have traveled the world through my employers. It is powerful and fun. Make sure that you are prepared to get there by preparing yourself not just for the job, but for the experience of interacting with people around the world.

Nicholas’s Answer

Not exactly answering your question, but important to state: many jobs that involve travel don't leave much or any time to actually experience hte place. You may fly in, attend meetings and work long hours, then fly home. It's not vacation and is often very exhausting and isolating. Careful what you wish for in this area, think long and hard about what your goals for this type of job really are.

Yumi’s Answer

Hi Kyara,

I'm sure there are many different careers that involve traveling. One comes to my mind is consulting. Depending on the coverage of work that client is looking for, you would travel in many states in the U.S. as well as certain parts of the world. For example, your client is located in the U.S. and the scope of the consulting work that your company received involves many branches in Europe and Asia. As a consultant, you would need to travel to those abroad locations to complete your job.
