Samantha’s Answer

Ive been cooking since I was 3 through family and friends. Then went to college and got an associates degree in culinary arts. Even to this day I still tinker with recipes and learn new food from different countries.

Emily’s Answer

Hi Tamekia, great question! When I was a student, I made sure to get involved in clubs and extra curricular activities that related to my field so I could get hands-on experience before I even made it into the workforce. I would also highly recommend looking for internships so that you can get experience and gain that kind of knowledge early! You also gain a lot of knowledge as a student so make sure you attend all your classes, complete your assignments, go to office hours if you need any help/clarification from your professor, and study hard! When you're new on your job, ask lots of questions! Your colleagues will want you to be successful so they should help you gain the knowledge and understanding you need to do your job well. Good luck!
