No matter how prepared you think you are for college, you may feel anxious when you arrive on campus—even flat-out panicked. But not to worry
To learn about what college life is like, you can talk with people who have been to college, visit college campuses and continue learning about college before you become a college student. Some major differences between high school and college include class size, contact with professors, workload and grades.

Hi Aaron,
For many students, college is not a place where they go to attend class and go home. Many college students are looking for a well-rounded experience and are involved in the college community. Every college campus is not the same but they do have many things in common. College is an exciting time for most young people and many take advantage of the many opportunities to get involved in student life. Participating in student clubs (think student clubs in high school), student government, academic groups and honor societies, community service, sororities and fraternities. College students have opportunities to travel to another country to study or travel within the U.S. to do community service in another state. Students are also involved in lab experiments or researching a scientific question with a professor. Internships (jobs related to your career interest) are important to college students because they give students first hand experience into the career field or specific career of interest. These experiences can be fun, but they can also be learning opportunities for students. Students have to maintain a balance and not take on too may activities that may interfere with your academics. When I attended college, I did almost all of the things listed above (not at the same time :)), worked part-time, and graduated with Honors. As a college student, it is very important to PRIORITIZE and never forget that your primary reason for attending college is to earn your degree. Everything else is a nice bonus that comes with lifelong memories!

Hi Aaron!
You asked a very important question, because high school and college are very different. In high school you have much more structure in your life than you do in college. The most important thing that you need to do is to create a balance between college work and social life. Too many students get into trouble, because they do not create a good balance.
Here is a site that explains the difference in sufficient detail:

Best of life. When you create a good balance, college can be great.
Please keep me posted. I would like to follow your progress!
