Hello thank you for the question.
Do you want to be a computer engineer? Or would you like to do database programmer? In the computer industry there are so many avenues that you can take like Software or Hardware, Cisco, Linux, many different flavors of software hardware and programs out there. Really it depends on what you want to do. Cyber security? The most money is computer engineering and a high demand for engineers in programming. I would start off at a community college. They will pay with a bogg grant in the State of CA if you cannot pay. After you finish there you can transfer to a four year college. Unless you want an accelerated programming then your are dealing with post-secondary schools that are not great colleges but you still receive certification’s and a degrees it’s a matter of how much time and money you have to put into it .You can always get FAFSA or Government loans and Pell grants to fund your education Keeping the education inexpensive by attending community college first Then moving on into a four year program and an engineering program is your best bet. You must look at the area you are in because of residency fees. You must be a resident for one year before not having to pay residency fees. However CA covers those if you cannot pay either for the bogg I think it used to be like that I will have to check on that. Too. I will look for you to see if any colleges inexpensive for programming. I know of a few however post-secondary schools. The Bogg grant is the Board of Governor’s waiver form you fill out and they approve or deny it in the state of Ca. I do not know about other states if they have the Bogg.

Most colleges, 2- and 4-year, teach computer programming. You should be able to find these courses nearby, almost no matter where you live in the country. Many programmers started coding as a hobby, often making games, websites, or smartphone apps that are fun to play with. If you'd like to learn to program, I suggest free resources online like www.code.org and www.udacity.com, then thinking about something fun you'd like to make!
Choosing a college is more tricky, of course, but because computer programming classes are prevalent, you should be able to have more "filters": colleges that offer you the most scholarship money or cost the least, or that are in the city you like most, or have other majors that you also want to study. Eventually you'll have to figure out if you want to major in computer science (or software engineering), or just learn those skills within another major.
I see on College Navigator that there are 31 colleges within 25 miles of Lynn, MA, that offer computer majors (http://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/?s=all&zc=01901&zd=25&of=3&p=11&l=92+93&ct=1+2&ic=1+2). Since there are 61 colleges in general in that area, that's just over half of the colleges around you that have a major that will fit you. Those are good odds.

Here is a list of some of the top ranking colleges. You may want to look at post secondary if you cannot afford a four year college.

If you are good with math, I would say engineer. You will make good income, always jobs in this area. There are many types too. After you figure out what you like then I would say hop on the wagon and go for it. Never give up and if something is not working for you. you can always find another major that does work for you. Faling is never an option. I know you will do well, you deserve the best life. Peace be with you.
