Hi- to get into the FBI as a Special Agent, you will need a college degree. Although there are preferred degrees, combined with work experience I suspect any degree will do. I encourage you to visit the FBI's website as there they will detail requirements for the job. If your interest is in the FBI in one of their many specialty support functions you may not need a college degree but again, their website will detail all of this. Knowing a foreign language helps as well. Aside from an education, whatever the function you purse, the FBI will perform an extensive criminal and personal background check on you so it is important to obey the law, surround yourself with good role models/friends and be mindful of what you post on social media. A career in the FBI would be very rewarding. It is an honorable profession protecting and serving our communities across the country.
Best of luck!!

Hi Dominiq,

You need to start with this question - what do you want to for the FBI? When I think about the FBI, I think about teams of highly specialized individuals coming together to protect the United States. There are the traditional roles of law enforcement, like chasing people who break federal laws and bringing them physically to justice. Or maybe you want to consider cyber secure and work to protect the country's digital systems. There are those who support law enforcement through pathology work or forensics. There are even people who handle hiring, training, and paying those who work in the FBI. Those are traditional Human Resources roles that are done at any other company. So when you think of the FBI, consider what role appeals to you. If you don't know, think about what skills you already have that you think would benefit the FBI. Are you good at math, speaking to people, taking photos? There are many skills, I just named a few that come to mind. Do some research online for how skills you already have may apply to roles in the FBI. I have known more than one high school teacher who was approached to apply for a job at the FBI. One was a Government teacher and another a Social Studies teacher - both taught high school. There are a lot of roles to fill to be a part of the FBI.

Good luck getting into the FBI.
