What are some ways to find career internships?

I am not yet sure of what I want to study after high school but, I am between a Neonatal nurse and a vet at the moment. #nurse #internship

Hi Marianela, one way I was able to get internships was through my connections. So my advice is to go all your career events once you enter college. Then make good relationships with your professor because you never know how they can help you in the future. And also try to make friends with as many students as possible because they can refer you for internships as well. Lastly, if your college has a career site make sure you use that to apply for jobs. And also don't be afraid to reach out to companies asking for internships.

Charles’s Answer

Hello -

For me - making connections was the most important part. Talking to people in your desired field and really trying to listen and understand what they do. Next, I researched all of the companies I was interested in and looked into their internship programs - especially companies where I had a connection! A lot of companies talk about their internship programs on their websites if you dig deep enough.

After I applied - I would reach out to my connection mentioning I just applied, and asking if they would have any guidance or advice to nail the interviews.

Good luck! You got this!

Hello Marianela:
A good place would be to look for some volunteer opportunities at a hospital near you. While you are volunteering at the hospital, you can find a mentor in the nursing field that you are interested in. Also, volunteering or working at your neighborhood animal shelter will also be a good start if you are thinking about exploring being a Vet. I hope this helps.
