I think engineering and statistical analysis may be careers to consider. There are many avenues that employ math. Consider doing an online search on the topic. It will provide greater detail than what I provide here.

Phil’s Answer

A mathematics degree is a great foundation for lots of different careers. It teaches you how to think logically and increases your analytical capabilities. Even with maths degrees there are a great variety of different subjects, most of which would be completely different to anything you have experienced in high school. Especially in pure mathematics, there are some subjects that are very novel and require abstract thinking.

You should research the subjects taught in Maths degrees and determine if a Maths degree is most appropriate for you.
Thank you comment icon Hey Phil, this doesn't directly answer the student's question. Do you have any examples of careers they could get into with a mathematics degree? Gurpreet Lally, Admin

PAVAN’s Answer

It depends on how you see yourself leveraging mathematics. If you would you want to be an applied mathematician who likes to solve business problems, data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, experimentation (like designing and evaluating A/B tests), operations research, even teaching can be couple of options. If you are someone who likes to do research, you can consider PhD and thereby, get an opportunity to work on something novel.
