Can event planner work with Celebrities and host or set up their events?

I am 17 and I am a senior. When i graduate I want too go to college and take Hospitality Management. I am very nice and polite. I am asking this question because I want to be an event planner and work with celebrities and big companies. #event-planning

At first to answer your question yes event planner can work with celebrities.
An event planner is a professional who coordinates and organizes meetings, luncheons and other special events for companies or individual clients. Event planning careers typically require strong organizational and communication skills. While it is possible to work as an event planner with no formal education, aspiring planners may choose to complete a certificate program in event planning or earn a bachelor's degree in hospitality management.
Skills which event planer should have :
Event planning requires creativity, organization and flexibility. You will need to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to multi-task as you juggle multiple projects. You need to be assertive when dealing with a crisis yet patient with your client. Strong written and verbal communication skills allow you to negotiate well with your client and vendors and an understanding of budgeting will help you stay on target with your expenses.

I would research companies that specialize in this area. Since you have many years to get started, try and get an internship at one of them to get your foot in the door. Also contact these companies to ask for mentorship. This is a "who you know" business so start networking and build your network and contacts. You will need to be located in the major hubs for "celebrities" which will be Los Angeles/Hollywood or New York. Being likable is one of the most important qualities as people like to work with others that they like as there will be many competent people in this business so being likeable will get you an edge. More so, be prepared to be available 24-7 especially as you get started to prove yourself and your reliability. Also be prepared to do things you may consider beneath you as when it comes to crunch time, its all hands on deck and no one is above what the low man on the totem pole must also do whether it is polish silverware, get people coffee, sort M&M colors, etc. Anticipate peoples needs and be proactive, dont just take orders, know when to take charge and know when to listen, know when to offer ideas, and play the politics.
