Hi Michael P. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

Having worked in this field since I graduated with my engineering degree, I would say that yes, there are lots of jobs in this field. There are a few caveats to keep in mind. You may have learned by now that there are many different types of engineering disciplines. There are some that are more traditional towards building like civil or mechanical...and there are others where the basis of the work is still building...but is more about using computer coding to build...and there are other engineering disciplines that consider parts of the medical field like bio or chemical engineering...

In terms of being able to get a job fast, there are numerous factors that can contribute to or slow down that goal. But overall, there are many good job prospects for professional candidates with technology-based expertise.

Not only are there many jobs in this field but studying in this field has the potential of building skill sets that can be used in non traditional engineering roles. If you are strong in following directions, building designs, contributing to team efforts, and many others, those types of skill sets can serve you well even if not in a traditional engineering role.

Hope you find this response useful and best of luck to you.
